Biography

This is the official website for Arin Alldridge.

Arin was born in Bournemouth, England, and brought up in Chester from the age of three.  When he was sixteen, his family returned to Bournemouth, and he began studying acting at the Jellicoe Theatre (a part of Bournemouth & Poole College of Further Education).  His natural charm and talent impressed those around him, and he became certain that this would be his future.

At eighteen, he began training as a professional actor, at the Drama Centre London.  He found it a lot tougher and more competitive here than at the Jellicoe Theatre.  During the first term, shyness prevented him from standing out.

“It seemed to me that everyone else there was more confident than me.  I later realised that many of them had merely been better at the pretence of self-confidence.  At the end of that first term I thought I was going to be kicked out, so I got angry!  It was through this anger and determination to show my ability, that I found my confidence.”

“I have always aspired to be a dangerous actor; an actor on the edge, willing to trust my impulses and the authenticity of my actions.  This, I believe, is necessary, in order to go to some of the dark emotional places one must dare, as an actor.  It can be quite a scary and vulnerable place; it is also exhilarating.  But it is this truth for which I am constantly striving in my performances, whether playing a killer or a clown.”

He plays guitar and is an accomplished singer.

A positive and happy individual, Arin is fervent about nature and the outdoors.  He has a particular love of trees and mountains, and of hiking amongst them.

He maintains his high energy levels with frequent and regular exercise, and has a passion for extreme sports.
